Environmental goals
Energy consumption
◗ The Group’s total energy consumption must be reduced by 20% by the end of 2010.
◗ The Group’s total energy consumption must be 20% lower than the business sector as a whole by the end of 2010.
Energy and CO2 emissions
◗ Steen & Strøm will work systematically to ensure that our CO2 emissions are as low as possible.
◗ Steen & Strøm will aim to become a climate neutral company in time.
Waste
◗ At least 75% of the Group’s waste should be included in the waste management programme.
Transport and climate
◗ Steen & Strøm will keep track of and control of transport to and from their centres and of the impact of the transport on the environment.
◗ SST will work systematically to ensure that the environmental burden of transport is is redused to a minimum.
Purchases
◗ Steen & Strøm will create a demand for environmental goods and services, cooperate with green companies and require
documentation that the environmental requirements have been met.
Aesthetics
◗ Steen & Strøm shall improve its aesthetic standard both in existing centres and new development projects.

Social goals
Safety
◗ It should be safe for the public to visit Steen & Strøm centres.
◗ Steen & Strøm will work constructively with fire safety and comply with laws and regulations.
◗ Steen & Strøm will work systematically on reducing the risks and consequences of fires to ensure optimum safety for people and valuables.
Crime and terror
◗ Steen & Strøm will cooperate with local police authorities.
◗ Steen & Strøm will fight all forms of crime at the centres to ensure that they are safe places for the public to shop.
Corruption
◗ There shall be no incidents of financial crime or corruption within Steen & Strøm.
Working environment and HSE
◗ Steen & Strøm’s goal is to be among the foremost companies within health, safety and the environment.
◗ We will work systematically with preventing unwanted conditions and incidents, both human and material.
